Our Promising Year Ahead
January
We are handing over a newly built house to Elice, one of our BE Program alumni and a single mother whose previous mud-built home was destroyed by floods. This new residence will provide a safe and stable environment for Elice, her child and sister.
Juma, who has been part of our Orphan to College Program since he was seven years old, received his nursing degree and license from Hubert Kairuki Memorial University. His long-term goal is to become a doctor.
February
We will be onboarding 30 more students for our spring BE Program in Moshi, Tanzania.
March
Last year we announced that we would be transitioning our Orphan to College Program to a College Scholarship Program in order to bring higher education to more disadvantaged students. Frida is our fourth student to be accepted into the Program and will begin studying accountancy at Moshi Cooperative University in Tanzania.
April - September
We will begin expanding our BE Program to numerous students outside of Moshi to four other geographical locations throughout Tanzania and beyond.
May
Oscar, who is from Colombia and one of our USA Scholarship Program students, will be graduating from Harvard University with his Masters in Public Policy.
June
Salesforce employees will be utilizing their Volunteer Time Off (VTO) by traveling to Tanzania to work in the classrooms with our BE Program students, experience the local culture and go on safari.
July
We will be welcoming hikers to join our Mount Kilimanjaro charity hike. Stay tuned for more information or contact us!
August
Kira, who is American and one of our USA Scholarship Program students, will be graduating from the University of Arizona, College of Veterinary Medicine.
Nina, who is German and one of our USA Scholarship Program students, will be graduating from the Midwifery School in Florida.
November
Jackline, who has been part of our Orphan to College Program since she was nine years old, will be graduating Hubert Kairuki School of Nursing with a degree in nursing.
December
Elliona, who has been part of our Orphan to College Program since he was seven years old, will be graduating from the Tanzania Institute of Accountancy College with a degree in procurement and logistics.
Mary, who recently received her medical degree from the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical College, will be completing her medical internship in Morongoro, Tanzania and preparing to become a doctor.
