Celebrating Our 8th BE Program Cohort: A Journey of Empowerment and Inspiration
We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our 8th cohort from the BE Program! This momentous occasion, held in the vibrant setting of Tanzania, marked a significant milestone in the lives of our dedicated students. Their hard work, resilience, and commitment to their education were evident in every moment of the ceremony.
A Special Visit from Our Founder, Theresa Grant
We had the immense honor of welcoming our founder, Theresa Grant, to Tanzania for this special event. Theresa’s visit was not just a formality; it was a deeply engaging experience where she took the time to personally congratulate each graduate, listen to their feedback, and discuss how we can continue to improve the BE Program.
Empowering Presentations and Speeches
One of the highlights of the ceremony was witnessing our graduates present what they had learned. Theresa was thrilled to see the students confidently sharing their knowledge and experiences with their peers. Their presentations were a testament to their growth, not just academically but also in their ability to communicate effectively and inspire others.
The graduates also delivered heartfelt speeches, recounting their journeys and the challenges they overcame. These speeches were powerful reminders of the impact of education and the strength of the human spirit.
Inspiring Words from Theresa Grant
During her visit, Theresa shared some valuable advice with the graduates. She emphasized the importance of continuous learning and skill-building, especially for women. "Never stop building up your skillset," she encouraged. "Whether you are working or volunteering, even if it’s just five hours a week, it’s better than not working at all. Keeping your CV or resume up to date is crucial. You never know when you will need a job, and having some source of income provides you with the ability to make healthier choices for you and your family."
Theresa also encouraged the men in the audience to support and encourage women in their educational and professional endeavors. "It's important for men to support women in their efforts to be educated and to work at least part-time to build their skill set," she said.
Lastly, she reminded everyone that learning new skills is always possible, no matter how busy life gets. "We all have time to learn a new skill. All it takes is three minutes a day to learn a new language, which can help you earn more money. We all have three minutes a day."
