About Subirah

“Make A Difference means a lot to me because it’s changed my life since I was young until now. I understand myself more and they’ve helped me with my confidence through education. It has changed me from darkness of the world to brightness world. Thanks you to all the donors, volunteers and board – everyone involved.

Right now I’m in nursing school. I love the thought of being a nurse because nursing is all about helping and saving people’s life and help them or assist in a peaceful death. I love the career I’m going into!”

Subirah was born in Kilototoni Himo, Tanzania in 1996. Her mother Sofia died when she was very young and her father Twalib died in 1998. Living at her home village was very difficult. Four people would share a bed with Subirah and she normally had only one meal a day. In order to get water they would wait for rain or walk to a river. She had no shoes and minimal clothing.

Today, Subirah is a happy young lady full of smiles and laughter. She loves to lead singing with the children Make A Difference supports. Subirah aspires to be a doctor!
