Give Back, Learn, See the Snows of Kilimanjaro & Go On Safari!

2018 Dates:
Spring: April 3rd (arrive) – April 10th (depart) 
Safari Option: Extend until the 12th and depart for safari on the 10th at 830am

Summer: June 3rd (arrive) – June 10th (depart)
Safari Option: Extend until the 12th and depart for safari on the 10th at 830am
Winter: Nov 29th (arrive) – Dec 6th (depart)
Safari Option: Extend until the 8th and depart for safari on the 6th at 830am
*Our safari company can drop you off at the airport on the last day of your safari for evening flights out.

The Details:

Your Tentative Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) between 6pm – 9 pm; Our staff will greet you at the airport and transfer you to our guest house in Moshi (one hour drive).
Day 2: Orientation, Swahili course, learn about the local food and icebreakers with children.
Day 3: Learn about the local Chagga tribe then help prepare a meal for one of the families we help in their village.
Day 4: Workshops (English, and for those who are math minded, Math and Science) with children (2 to 3 hours) to help them improve in these subjects. Our focus will be creating ways for these subjects to come alive. It may be creating a business plan, learning how to create an App (where they can use their math and English) or writing essays on important global topics. In the evening you will have a call or meeting with our director where you will give her an update on how your time has been going and inform her if any changes need to be made. 
Days 5-7: More workshops and the possibility to help with a project at the school such as (library, technology center or playground); play sports with children; career presentations and our traditional African sendoff!
Days 8-10: Optional 3 day safari with accommodation at upscale hotels. Includes all meals, transport, lodging, guide, driver and park entrance fees. Price is $995 US for 2018 (based on a minimum of 6 people. This price is not included in your volunteer program fee).*

Cost of Program:
US $2,000/person (minimum of 5 people needed, maximum of 10). In order to secure a spot, a $250 deposit is needed. This deposit is refundable within 24 hours of payment. After we receive your registration our bookkeeper will bill you. As soon as we receive your deposit, your spot will be reserved. We will also bill you for your remaining balance  and help you get started on planning your safari with our partner safari company that help supports MAD!

Payment Covers:
– Airport pickup and drop Off
– Daily transfers to projects
– All meals at MAD guest house
– Staff: Guide, driver, Swahili teacher, cook and evening security guard
– Donation to our education endowment fund
